First week of hatching lavender split to black.

Two chicks not showing stripes.

Notice the solid color in this chick and the dark, dark skin, eyes and beak. AND yes the vaulted skull.

Chicks are a few weeks older now

Notice the two very dark eyed chicks in the center.

Dark eyes, beaks and no stripes on some.

FIRST black split to lavender showgirl!

This little chick is carrying one lavender gene since I bred her black sg mom to my lavender cockerel. Give it enough time to mature and I will cross it back to a lavender mate and I should have a good chance to SEE lavender color along with the chance of  black or mutt colored chicks.

All chicks are from black splits but she is getting two different results so far, solid and stripes.

Lavender Showgirl beginnings

This nice black showgirl pullet is a cross to lavender. The young cockerel is a fairly good lavender split to black.

Plans are for some chicks in the next few months. My thinking..25% chance of silkie or showgirl  / lavender or black.
